Introduction
SongSync finds lyrics for the music files on your phone and saves them next to your songs, or embeds them inside the files. Music players that show lyrics can then display them offline. It is for people with a local music library, not for streaming apps.
What it does
- Whole library in one tap: it goes through every song and downloads lyrics for each.
- One song at a time, when you only want to fix a few.
- Embeds lyrics directly into the song files, so they travel with the music.
- Several lyrics providers to search.
- Search for songs not in your library and download their lyrics anyway.
IzzyOnDroid flags SongSync NonFreeNet, which fits: the lyrics come from online providers, not from free services.
What stands out in the APK
- No trackers.
- All-files access is its one special permission. It has to read and write your music files to embed lyrics. Storage and notifications ask first.
- Seven permissions in total.
Installing it
- Install the APK and open it.
- Grant access to your music files.
- Run it on the whole library, or pick individual songs.
- If your music player reads embedded lyrics, embed them so they stay with each file.
Worth knowing
This build dates from May 15, 2025. Lyrics providers change their services, so if searches start failing, check the project’s releases for a newer version.
