Introduction

Zalith Launcher 2 runs Minecraft: Java Edition on Android. Under the hood it uses PojavLauncher’s launching code, the same engine family as Amethyst. On top of that the developers built a completely new interface with Jetpack Compose and Material Design 3.

Not the same as “Zalith Launcher”

The name causes confusion, and the developers point it out themselves:

  • Zalith Launcher 2 is a separate project from the older ZalithLauncher, not a version 2 of it. It has its own package name, com.movtery.zalithlauncher.v2, so both can be installed side by side.
  • The developers warn about a third-party website that uses the Zalith Launcher name, looks official and shows ads. They say it isn’t theirs. Their own site is zalithlauncher.cn, still under construction, and their releases are on GitHub, which is where this file comes from.

What you need

  • Android 8.0 or later. This build includes native code for 64-bit and 32-bit ARM and for x86.
  • A Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. Game files are downloaded from Mojang’s servers, not included in the launcher.
  • Room for game versions and mods on top of the app itself.

Licence note

Zalith Launcher 2 is GPL-3.0 with extra terms, allowed under section 7. Modified versions must not use the name “ZalithLauncher” or “ZL”, and must say clearly that they are unofficial. The file here is the official, unmodified release.
