Introduction
MojoLauncher runs Minecraft: Java Edition, the PC version of Minecraft, on Android. Its README: “MojoLauncher is a launcher, based on PojavLauncher, that allows you to play Minecraft: Java Edition on your Android device!” It is made by Maksim Belov (artDeell), one of PojavLauncher’s former developers, and other contributors, and it is actively developed. Releases have code names: Iris in June 2026 and Justicia in October 2026; the file hosted here is Justicia Hotfix 1. Between releases, the project publishes nightly builds.
What it does
- Vanilla and modded versions: create instances for vanilla Minecraft, OptiFine, Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Legacy Fabric and Quilt, and for Better than Adventure! (BTA).
- Mods and modpacks: search Modrinth and CurseForge from the launcher; Justicia added support for the GregTech: New Horizons modpack.
- Renderers to suit your phone: GL4ES (OpenGL ES 2, Minecraft 1.21.4 and older), LTW (OpenGL ES 3, 1.17 and newer), Zink (Vulkan), Freedreno for Adreno GPUs, and Mesa options; ANGLE and VirGL come as separate plugins.
- Controls: touch layouts you can edit, and full gamepad support through SDL3, added in Justicia.
- Accounts: Microsoft, Ely.by and local accounts.
What you need
- Minecraft: Java Edition, Mojang’s paid game, to sign in with a Microsoft account. The launcher downloads the game files from Mojang’s servers; it doesn’t include them.
- Storage beyond the 91.2 MB app: game versions, Java runtimes, mods and libraries are all downloaded when needed.
- A capable phone. Java Edition was made for PCs, and how well it runs depends on the phone, the renderer and the mods. We haven’t tested it on a device.
What goes online
From the Justicia Hotfix 1 code, everything it fetches is for the game:
- Mojang: the version list, at start, and the game files; Microsoft’s sign-in, inside the app, for Microsoft accounts.
- MojoLauncher’s own sites: Java 17, 21 and 25 from its download page, checked against a certificate in the app and checked for updates every three days once installed; LWJGL, the game library, from its GitHub releases.
- Modrinth and CurseForge when you search for mods, the mod loaders’ own servers when you install one, mineskin.eu for player heads, and Ely.by for Ely.by accounts.
- No check for new versions of the launcher itself, and no analytics or crash uploads. The privacy policy says the app “uses network only for downloading game resources, mods or other content”, and that crash reports are stored on the phone but “not shared to the developer or any third parties”.
Mojang’s server blocklist is turned off by default (see the questions). The setting loads a small component, NoBlocklist, into the game.
The permissions it asks for
Eleven. Microphone is requested only if you tap “Request microphone access permission” in the settings, which “Requests system to give access to device microphone for the game”. Two kinds of foreground service keep the game and the downloads running in the background. Phone state isn’t in the launcher’s own manifest and isn’t used by its code; it was most likely added automatically by the build tools from two bundled libraries. The others are internet and network state, notifications, vibration and storage.
About this file
- This is the developers’ own release Justicia Hotfix 1 (version code 542) from the project’s GitHub page, where it is marked Latest. GitHub publishes a digest for the file, which our download matches.
- Hotfix 1 adds a custom Vulkan-driver loader to the GitHub and debug builds, fixes renamed files during downloads, Cleanroom JSON downloads that could hang, Java 8’s NoBlocklist support and physical-mouse behaviour when opening launcher menus in game, and avoids a game crash when Ely.by is unavailable. It also removes ByteHook and moves the file-permission hooks into the Java runtime patches.
- It is signed with a key issued to Maksim Belov, created in June 2026. The project keeps its release keystores in the public source repository, but not their passwords: the build workflow reads them from the project’s private settings. The repository also contains a debug key with a public password, which signs only test builds with a separate package name ending in .debug.
- The 91.2 MB file runs on Android 5.0 and later, on ARM and x86, 32- and 64-bit, and includes Java 8. Our current scan found no tracker libraries.
- MojoLauncher is licensed under the LGPL-3.0. The Mesa graphics drivers inside are built from a fork that, in the website’s words, “Due to abuse by third parties … is not available to the public”; Mesa itself is MIT-licensed, which allows that. The Minecraft Ten font in the APK says “(c) 2015-2017 Mojang AB. All rights reserved.”, and the NoBlocklist component’s repository has no licence.
- The project publishes no screenshots, only its logo, so this page has none.

Common questions
Is this APK the official MojoLauncher release?
Yes. It is the file from the project’s justicia-h1 release on GitHub, byte for byte, and it matches the SHA-256 checksum GitHub publishes for it. It is signed with the certificate we recorded when we first checked MojoLauncher (SHA-256 2937fb5a2216a788ba44f769eb5fee01c902f92dbf68069d44f9ca0ace087091); a release signed with a different key would not be published here.
What Android version does MojoLauncher need?
Android 5.0 or later (API level 21). Version justicia-20261028-[f6c5ae4]-v3_openjdk is built for Android 16 (target API 36). Runs on 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM phones.
Can MojoLauncher access the internet?
Yes. The APK requests Android’s internet permission. In total it declares 11 permissions, and 5 of them need your approval first.
Does MojoLauncher contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version justicia-20261028-[f6c5ae4]-v3_openjdk found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is MojoLauncher open source?
Its code is. The source code of MojoLauncher is released under the LGPL-3.0 licence and published at https://github.com/MojoLauncher/MojoLauncher. The APK includes Mojang’s Minecraft Ten font, marked “All rights reserved”, graphics drivers built from a Mesa fork whose source isn’t public, and a NoBlocklist component with no stated licence.
Can it join servers that Mojang has blocked?
Yes, by default. A setting that is on from the start, in its words, will “Prevent the MC server blocklist from loading. This allows you to play on blocked servers (like 6b6t.org)”. Mojang keeps that blocklist for servers it has barred; you can switch the setting off in the launcher’s options.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
The launcher doesn’t require one: it also offers Ely.by accounts and local accounts, for which it only checks that the player name has 3 to 16 letters, digits or underscores. Minecraft: Java Edition is Mojang’s paid game, and signing in with Microsoft is how you play the copy you bought; MojoLauncher doesn’t check ownership for local accounts.
Can I update the Google Play version with this file?
The developers say so: the Iris release notes state that “releases on GitHub and Google Play have the same package name, making it possible to update between them”, since June 2026, when, in the commit’s words, the project started to “Publish with the same signature on Google Play and GitHub Releases”. We haven’t checked the key Google Play uses. On Play, the app is called MJLauncher.
Why does it download Java the first time I start a newer version?
The APK only includes Java 8. Minecraft versions that need Java 17, 21 or 25 make the launcher download that runtime from MojoLauncher’s own site, and it checks the download’s signature against a certificate built into the app before using it.
