Introduction
PipePipe started as a fork of NewPipe in early 2022. Its developer split off because of different ideas about where the app should go, and it has been developed independently since. The pitch is “NewPipe, reimagined”: the same no-account, no-Google-services approach, with many more features on top. When Tubular was discontinued, its developer pointed users here.
What it adds
From the project’s README:
- YouTube: SponsorBlock, Return YouTube Dislike, original (non-translated) video titles, and optional sign-in for restricted or premium content.
- BiliBili support, with SponsorBlock there too, and live chat shown as a danmaku-style overlay.
- Filtering: advanced search filters, blocking by keyword or channel, and hiding Shorts and paid videos.
- Playback: AV1 and VP9 codecs, a music player mode with background playback, swipe-to-seek and fullscreen gestures, long-press to speed up, and a sleep timer.
- Playlists: download a whole playlist at once, and search and sort local playlists and history.
Good to know
- The build here contains native code for 64-bit ARM only and needs Android 6.0 or later.
- Our scan found ACRA, the crash-reporting library NewPipe also uses. That shows the code is included, not what it sends.
- IzzyOnDroid lists it under the package name
InfinityLoop1309.NewPipeEnhanced. That is PipePipe, from the developer’s own releases, checked against IzzyOnDroid’s signed index.

What Android version does PipePipe need?

Can PipePipe access the internet?
Yes. The APK requests Android’s internet permission. In total it declares 11 permissions, and 2 of them need your approval first.
Does PipePipe contain trackers?
