Introduction
From the README: “Burger Party is a time management game for Android where you play a fast-food owner who must put together the burgers ordered by her customers before time runs out.” Each customer shows a burger in a speech bubble, and you tap the ingredients to stack them in the right order, adding drinks and sides as the orders grow. It is made by Aurélien Gâteau, who also makes Pixel Wheels.
What’s in the game
- Three worlds of 15 levels each: the United States, a pirate ship and Japan, each with its own customers and ingredients. New ingredients unlock as you go.
- Three difficulty levels, added in version 1.1.1.
- A sandbox in each world, where you build burgers with no clock, and a list of achievements.
- An ending sequence, added in 1.4.0.
The game plays in landscape only.
What goes online
Nothing. Burger Party declares no permissions at all, so it can’t use the internet. The three buttons in the settings (support, merchandise, Mastodon) hand a web address to your browser when you tap them.
About this file
- This is the developer’s own build of Burger Party 1.4.6, distributed through F-Droid. F-Droid rebuilt it from the source code, confirmed it matched, and publishes the developer’s signed file, which is the same file as on his GitHub release. It is signed with his key (CN=Aurélien Gâteau), the same as Pixel Wheels.
- 1.4.6, from March 2026, fixed the Spanish text so it always fits the screen, and stops the screen from switching off while you play.
- The 8.8 MB file runs on ARM and x86 phones, 32- and 64-bit. F-Droid lists Android 2.3 as the minimum. Our scan found no trackers.
- Burger Party is licensed under the GPL-3.0 or later, except a package of reusable code under the Apache-2.0. The developer explains the choice: “if your plan is to take the game, slap some ads on it, and release it without releasing the sources of your changes: the license forbids you to do so, go find another prey.”
- The project’s asset list covers the fonts and sounds only. The music is by Thomas Tripon under CC BY-SA 4.0, and most sound effects come from Freesound and OpenGameArt under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA licences. Four sound effects (
tick2,new-item-unlocked,goodbyeandwind) aren’t listed anywhere, and the graphics have no stated licence; the repository contains a CC BY-SA 4.0 licence file that doesn’t say what it covers. The “Burger Party” title is drawn in Walrus Gumbo by Nick Curtis, which the asset list calls “100% Free” while the font file itself says “All Rights Reserved”; only the drawn title is in the APK, not the font.

Common questions
Is this APK the official Burger Party release?
Yes. It is the developer-signed release of Burger Party 1.4.6 that F-Droid distributes, which F-Droid publishes only when its own build from the source code reproduces it. Its SHA-256 matches F-Droid’s signed index, and it is signed with the developer’s certificate (SHA-256 8a8ff484fdd780b3fbdb14183a5373dbe11b026edd3e6fec297e5f10aa3f32f1).
What Android version does Burger Party need?
Android 2.3 or later (API level 9). Version 1.4.6 is built for Android 15 (target API 35). Runs on 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM phones.
Can Burger Party access the internet?
No. The APK doesn’t request Android’s internet permission, so the app can’t go online by itself. In total it declares 0 permissions, and none of them needs your approval first.
Does Burger Party contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version 1.4.6 found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is Burger Party open source?
Its code is. The source code of Burger Party is released under the GPL-3.0-or-later licence and published at https://github.com/agateau/burgerparty. Its graphics have no stated licence, four sound effects have no stated origin, and the title lettering uses Walrus Gumbo, a font labelled “100% Free” online whose own file says “All Rights Reserved”.
Are there ads or purchases?
No. Burger Party used to show ads; version 1.3.0 in 2018 “Removed ads! Burger Party is now free software”. The settings dialog has three buttons that open web pages only when you tap them: one to support the developer, one for Burger Party merchandise, and one for his Mastodon account.
Will there be new levels?
Probably not. The developer’s README: “I consider this game to be done. This means I may release bug fixes or publish required updates to make sure the game continues to be available on mobile platforms, but I won’t be adding any new features.”
Can I install it over the Google Play version?
Maybe. Google Play still has version 1.4.4 from July 2024, under the same package name, and this file’s version number is higher. It installs as an update only if Google Play’s copy is signed with the developer’s own key, which we couldn’t check. If Android refuses, the keys differ.
Is it in Portuguese?
No. Besides English, the game is translated into Spanish, Basque, French, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish and Russian.
