12 Open-Source Android Games With No Ads or In-App Purchases (2026)
Twelve open-source Android games, from strategy and roguelikes to racing and sandbox, whose files contain no ad libraries, no billing code and no trackers.
Every game on this list is open source, and we checked the actual file we host for each one. None of the twelve contains an advertising library, Google Play’s billing code (what in-app purchases run on) or a tracker SDK. That is a check of the code inside the APK; for what each game does online, see its page.
Strategy
- Mindustry: real-time factory building and tower defence. Public servers may turn this F-Droid build away; playing alone works.
- Unciv: turn-based empire building on a hex map, in a small download.
- The Battle for Wesnoth: turn-based fantasy campaigns. The Android version is an alpha and downloads about 0.6 GB of game data on first start.
- VCMI: an engine for Heroes of Might and Magic III. It needs the original game’s files, for example from GOG.
Roguelikes and RPG
- Shattered Pixel Dungeon: a roguelike built for touch screens, with six heroes. Its Google Play version has supporter purchases; the developer’s build here doesn’t.
- Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup: a deep classic roguelike that never goes online.
- Brogue CE: a compact roguelike, in an unofficial, unsupported port.
- Endless Sky: space trading and combat in an open galaxy, in an unofficial port that needs no permissions at all.
Simulation
- OpenRCT2: RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, rebuilt. It needs files from a desktop copy of the game, and its interface wasn’t made for phones.
- OpenTTD: Transport Tycoon Deluxe, rebuilt, with free graphics and sound included, in an unofficial port of a 2024 version.
Racing and sandbox
- SuperTuxKart: 3D kart racing with battles, soccer and online races. The project gives donors early access to some new tracks, outside the game.
- Luanti: a block-building engine; you install a game for it from its built-in library.

What “no ads” covers here
Our scan looks for known ad, analytics and billing code in each file, so it tells you what isn’t built in; it isn’t a test of how the game behaves. Several of these games have optional online features, such as update checks, add-on downloads and multiplayer, which their pages describe. Some also exist on Google Play in different builds: Shattered Pixel Dungeon’s Play version, for instance, has in-game supporter purchases and, according to its developer, analytics that the open-source build leaves out.
