Introduction
Feudal Tactics is a turn-based strategy game by Sesu8642. In the game’s own words: “You play on an randomly generated island made of hexagons. Your goal is to conquer all of it.” Each game is played against computer opponents; the project’s itch.io page gives the average session as “A few minutes”.
How it plays
The rules, from the in-game tutorial:
- Kingdoms: “Two or more connected tiles of the same color form a kingdom.” Each one earns a coin per tile every round, minus its units’ pay.
- Units: a peasant costs 10 coins. Placing a peasant on another unit makes a stronger one: peasant, spearman, knight, baron. Pay rises steeply, from 2 coins a round for a peasant to 54 for a baron.
- Castles cost 15 and need no pay, “Only knights and barons can destroy castles.”
- Bankruptcy: “If you cannot pay your units at the start of your turn … they will die and leave gravestones”, which turn into trees. Palm trees spread along the coast every round, so forests are a constant chore.
- You can undo moves, but only within the current turn.
New games
Every island is generated from a seed. On the new-game screen you choose your colour and starting position, the enemies’ skill (Easy, Medium, Hard or Very hard), the map size, from 50 to 1,000 tiles, and how compact the island is. By default you play against five computer opponents. A history of your games and statistics are kept on the phone. The game is in English and German.
There is no campaign, level editor or multiplayer in this version; the campaign and editor are in the code but switched off.
Controls
On a phone, double-tap buys a peasant and puts it in your kingdom, a long press buys and places a castle, and the back button undoes a move.
What goes online
Nothing. The game has no internet permission. Its privacy policy: “Feudal Tactics does not collect or transmit any personal information.” Links to the community chat on Matrix, the privacy policy and GitHub open in your browser only when you tap them. After a crash, the game shows the details and asks you to report them by e-mail or on GitHub yourself.
About this file
- This is F-Droid’s build of version 1.5.5, from September 2026, signed with F-Droid’s key. The developer’s APK on GitHub is signed with the developer’s key, and the Play version can’t carry F-Droid’s, so you can’t switch to either without uninstalling, which deletes your saved game, history and statistics.
- 1.5.5 fixed a map not being centred after it was generated again, and crashes and missing messages in the tutorial. 1.5.0, in June 2026, added the game history, statistics and the German translation.
- The 9.9 MB file runs on Android 7.0 and later, on ARM and x86, 32- and 64-bit, and needs OpenGL ES 2.0. Its only permission is an internal one that Android’s support library adds. Our scan found no trackers.
- The graphics are drawn by the developer. The buttons and panels are based on Pixthulhu UI by Raymond “Raeleus” Buckley, under CC BY 4.0, and the fonts are GNU FreeFont, under the GPL. There is no sound yet.
- The screenshots are the project’s own, from June 2026.
- Feudal Tactics is licensed under the GPL-3.0 or later. The source of this version is at https://github.com/Sesu8642/FeudalTactics/tree/v1.5.5.

Common questions
Is this APK the official Feudal Tactics release?
It is F-Droid’s build rather than the developer’s own: F-Droid compiled Feudal Tactics 1.5.5 from the published source code and signed it with its own key. Its SHA-256 matches F-Droid’s signed index. Because the key is F-Droid’s, it won’t install over a copy from Google Play or GitHub without uninstalling first.
What Android version does Feudal Tactics need?
Android 7.0 or later (API level 24). Version 1.5.5 is built for Android 16 (target API 36). Runs on 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM phones.
Can Feudal Tactics access the internet?
No. The APK doesn’t request Android’s internet permission, so the app can’t go online by itself. In total it declares 1 permission, and none of them needs your approval first.
Does Feudal Tactics contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version 1.5.5 found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is Feudal Tactics open source?
Yes. Feudal Tactics is released under the GPL-3.0-or-later licence, and its source code is published at https://github.com/Sesu8642/FeudalTactics.
Is there a campaign or a level editor?
Not in this version. Both exist in the source code but are switched off in the released game, so you play generated islands (“Random Island”) or the tutorial.
Can I replay or share a particular island?
Yes. Every island comes from a seed, which you can copy, paste or roll at random on the new-game screen, together with the other settings. After a game, Share sends the seed and settings to another app, so a friend can play the same map.
Is it the same as Slay?
The rules, yes, closely: the README says the mechanics are “heavily inspired by Sean O’Connor’s Slay”, and the developer has called the game a “clone” of it. The graphics are the developer’s own pixel art, and the code is open source.
Can I move my game between the phone and a computer?
There’s no sync. Desktop versions exist for Windows and Linux, and a Java version, but saves stay on each device; to play the same island elsewhere, share its seed.
