Introduction
Logseq is an outliner for notes and a personal knowledge base. Its README calls it “a knowledge management and collaboration platform” that focuses on “privacy, longevity, and user control”. Everything you write is saved as Markdown, or Org-mode, files in a folder you pick, so your notes stay readable without the app. It is made by Logseq Inc. and has been around since 2020.
This is the file-based app. In April 2026 Logseq split in two: the Markdown app became Logseq OG, which, in Logseq’s words, “will receive security and Electron … upgrades, but no new features”, while development moved to a new Logseq that stores notes in a database. Version 0.10.15, from December 2025, is the file-based app before the rename; Logseq OG 1.0.0 on GitHub is the same app with the new name. Logseq labels all its Android releases “Beta Testing”.
What it does
- Pages and blocks: every line is a block you can indent, fold, link to and reference from other pages, with backlinks at the bottom of each page.
- Tasks with LATER and NOW, scheduled and deadline dates and priorities.
- Flashcards for spaced repetition.
- Audio notes recorded into the page, photos from the camera, and sharing text or images into Logseq from other apps.
- Plugins and themes, a large part of the desktop app, aren’t available on Android.
What goes online
Nothing until you use something that needs it. From the code of this version:
- Logseq Sync and login go to Logseq’s servers and Amazon’s login service, only if you sign in.
- Embedded videos and images in your notes load from their sites, and the built-in handbook loads from Logseq’s pages.
- The app contains code for PostHog analytics and Sentry crash reports, but both this build and Logseq’s own were built without the keys they need, so they send nothing; F-Droid also switches the setting off.
Our scan found no trackers.
About this file
- This is F-Droid’s build of version 0.10.15, compiled from the tagged source and signed with F-Droid’s key. Logseq’s APKs on GitHub, including Logseq OG 1.0.0 and the database version, are signed by Logseq Inc., so they can’t update this copy. F-Droid hasn’t built Logseq OG yet. Logseq isn’t on Google Play.
- The 34.5 MB file runs on Android 5.1 and later, on ARM and x86, 32- and 64-bit, and declares 10 permissions: internet, all files access and storage and media, the microphone for audio notes, vibration, and one AndroidX adds for internal use.
- Logseq is licensed under the AGPL-3.0. It bundles the Source Sans Pro, Inter and KaTeX fonts, the Tabler icons and a fork of tldraw for whiteboards, under the Open Font License or MIT.
- Neither F-Droid nor the project has Android screenshots; ours are Logseq’s App Store images of the same file-based app on an iPhone, from about 2022.

Common questions
Is this APK the official Logseq release?
It is F-Droid’s build rather than the developer’s own: F-Droid compiled Logseq 0.10.15 from the published source code and signed it with its own key. Its SHA-256 matches F-Droid’s signed index. Because the key is F-Droid’s, it won’t install over a copy from Google Play or GitHub without uninstalling first.
What Android version does Logseq need?
Android 5.1 or later (API level 22). Version 0.10.15 is built for Android 13 (target API 33). Runs on 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM phones.
Can Logseq access the internet?
Yes. The APK requests Android’s internet permission. In total it declares 10 permissions, and 6 of them need your approval first.
Does Logseq contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version 0.10.15 found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is Logseq open source?
Yes. Logseq is released under the AGPL-3.0-only licence, and its source code is published at https://github.com/logseq/logseq.
Which Logseq is this?
The original, file-based app. In April 2026 Logseq split into Logseq OG, for Markdown files, and a new Logseq built on a database, still in beta. Logseq’s website and the app’s own “Check for updates” link now lead to the database version. It uses the same package name but another signing key, so it won’t install over this copy, and Android would treat it as older anyway: its version 2.0.2 has the internal version code 89, this build 90.
How do I sync my notes with other devices?
Either with Logseq Sync, which is in beta and open only to people who support the project on Open Collective, with a separate password per graph for end-to-end encryption, or by syncing the folder with another app. The app itself suggests Dropsync or FolderSync; Syncthing works the same way.
Can I use plugins and themes?
Not on Android. In this version the plugin system is switched on only in the desktop app.
Why does it ask for access to all files?
On Android 11 and later, it asks for “All files access” before you pick a folder for your notes, so it can read and write the Markdown files there.
