by Đỗ Ngọc Minh Tiến · MIT · open source

Introduction
Screen Lock is the listing name for ZukuLock, a single-purpose app by Vietnamese developer Đỗ Ngọc Minh Tiến. Each tap starts its short-lived SleepService; that service connects to Shizuku, runs Android’s input keyevent 26 command and stops itself. The command behaves like one press of the physical power button. It was created for phones such as Google Pixels that do not offer a built-in double-tap-to-lock gesture.
How to use it
Install and start Shizuku, then grant Screen Lock access when Shizuku asks. The first tap that opens the permission prompt does not also lock the screen, so tap the icon again after approval. If Shizuku is not running, the app shows a message instead. With a launcher that can open an app from a gesture, you can assign the icon to double-tap on the home screen.
This route avoids the Accessibility service used by many lock-button apps. That can be useful when a banking app objects to enabled accessibility services, but it is not a promise that every banking app will accept the setup: each bank decides what it checks, and Shizuku or wireless debugging may itself matter to some security policies.
The command is a screen toggle, not a separate lock mechanism. Android still controls when credentials are required, Smart Lock or Extend Unlock, biometrics and the lock-after-screen-timeout delay. Screen Lock cannot override those settings and does not replace the system lock screen.
Privacy and permissions
The measured APK declares one permission: Shizuku’s API permission. It has no internet, storage, Accessibility, device-admin or overlay permission, no native libraries and no tracker SDKs in our scan. It has no visible setup screen. Each icon tap starts its own internal service only long enough to connect, send the command and stop; the service is not left running in the background.
About this file
- This is the developer-signed version 1.0.1 distributed through IzzyOnDroid. The APK is 0.7 MB and runs on Android 7.0 or later.
- Version 1.0 used a different signing key. Android will reject 1.0.1 as an update to that copy; uninstall 1.0, install this one and approve its Shizuku access again.
- The source and app are under the MIT licence. The absence of screenshots is deliberate: the app’s only user-facing action is its launcher icon and the immediate screen-off request.

Common questions
Is this APK the official Screen Lock release?
Yes. It is the developer’s own release of Screen Lock 1.0.1, byte for byte as IzzyOnDroid distributes it. Its SHA-256 matches IzzyOnDroid’s signed index, and it is signed with the certificate IzzyOnDroid records for the app (SHA-256 99b0fb14ac8f4a0ee3c94e4283a7049c60e53ce247756183d4142ae03f1d0c8c).
What Android version does Screen Lock need?
Android 7.0 or later (API level 24). Version 1.0.1 is built for Android 14 (target API 34). Pure Java/Kotlin, so it runs on any CPU.
Can Screen Lock access the internet?
No. The APK doesn’t request Android’s internet permission, so the app can’t go online by itself. In total it declares 1 permission, and none of them needs your approval first.
Does Screen Lock contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version 1.0.1 found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is Screen Lock open source?
Yes. Screen Lock is released under the MIT licence, and its source code is published at https://github.com/tiendnm/zukulock.
Does it need root or Accessibility access?
No. It asks only for Shizuku’s API permission. Shizuku itself must be started by wireless debugging, ADB or root and you must approve Screen Lock inside Shizuku.
Does it instantly lock with my PIN?
It sends `input keyevent 26`, the same power-key event used to turn the display off. Whether Android immediately requires your PIN, fingerprint or face depends on your lock-screen and timeout settings; the app does not change them.
Can version 1.0.1 update version 1.0?
No. The developer lost the original signing key and states that updating from 1.0 requires uninstalling it first. After you install 1.0.1 with the new key, approve its Shizuku access again.
Why are there no interface screenshots?
There is no normal interface to capture: tapping the launcher icon immediately requests the power-key action and closes. Setup and authorization happen in the separate Shizuku app.
