Introduction
CPU Info is an open-source device inspector. It puts processor, graphics, memory, storage, battery, sensor and Android build information in one interface, and includes a separate list of installed applications. It reads what Android, system files and hardware APIs make available; it is not a benchmark, malware scanner or guarantee that every vendor reports each field correctly.
This page covers F-Droid’s 6.7.0 build. We matched the 2.8 MB APK to F-Droid’s signed index and inspected the fixed release source. We did not compare its readings with laboratory instruments or test every manufacturer’s Android changes on a physical phone.
Hardware readings and their limits
The CPU screen lists the processor name, supported ABIs, core count and per-core current, minimum and maximum frequencies. Version 6.7.0 changed the ABI row to show every architecture the device reports rather than only the preferred one. Frequency values come from Linux cpufreq files; a kernel can hide them or return unavailable values, and a momentary clock rate is not the same as processor load.
Other screens report OpenGL renderer and extensions, RAM and storage totals, battery condition and electrical readings, display dimensions, cameras and Android sensors. Sensor availability and accuracy depend on the device. A missing temperature, frequency or camera characteristic can therefore mean that Android did not expose it, not that the hardware lacks it.
Version 6.7.0 expands the Android section with the security patch level, build number and fingerprint, base OS, build type, Treble support, seamless-update status, Google Play system update, media performance class, time zone and system uptime. It also counts user and system apps and can expand the feature flags declared by the system.
Installed apps and quick tile
CPU Info requests visibility of installed packages so its applications screen can list user and system apps, their versions and native libraries. From that list it can open an app, hand its details page to Android Settings or request its removal through Android’s normal uninstall interface. Those actions do not give CPU Info silent package-management access.
The app also includes a Quick Settings tile. While the tile is actively listening, it refreshes once per second and displays the average current frequency of the available CPU cores. Treat that number as a clock reading rather than a utilisation percentage or a thermal-throttling test.
The APK does not request INTERNET, and our static scan found no known tracker SDKs. It can display local identifiers such as Android ID or Google Services Framework ID when the operating system exposes them, but the inspected build has no permission to transmit them itself. Android backup is enabled by the manifest, so device backup behaviour remains subject to the operating system and the user’s backup settings.
About this file
- This is F-Droid’s source build of 6.7.0, signed with F-Droid’s key.
- It needs Android 7.0 or later and contains native libraries for 32- and 64-bit ARM and x86.
- It declares nine permissions, mainly for network/Wi-Fi state, installed-package visibility and opening Android’s uninstall flow; it does not declare internet access.
- Its measured SHA-256 is
add5b106513c85c99689134959f1ed522bbd9ef54478d9e522b7d5658b33849d, matching F-Droid’s signed index. - CPU Info is licensed under Apache-2.0. Our static scan found no known tracker SDKs.

Common questions
Is this APK the official CPU Info release?
It is F-Droid’s build rather than the developer’s own: F-Droid compiled CPU Info 6.7.0 from the published source code and signed it with its own key. Its SHA-256 matches F-Droid’s signed index. Because the key is F-Droid’s, it won’t install over a copy from Google Play or GitHub without uninstalling first.
What Android version does CPU Info need?
Android 7.0 or later (API level 24). Version 6.7.0 is built for Android 17 (target API 37). Runs on 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM phones.
Can CPU Info access the internet?
No. The APK doesn’t request Android’s internet permission, so the app can’t go online by itself. In total it declares 9 permissions, and none of them needs your approval first.
Does CPU Info contain trackers?
No known trackers: our scan of version 6.7.0 found no code matching the Exodus Privacy tracker signatures. The scan covers known tracker libraries; it doesn’t show what data the app itself sends.
Is CPU Info open source?
Yes. CPU Info is released under the Apache-2.0 licence, and its source code is published at https://github.com/kamgurgul/cpu-info.
Does CPU Info benchmark or stress the processor?
No. It reads information Android and the Linux kernel expose, including current and available CPU frequencies. Those readings can be unavailable on some devices and do not measure sustained performance or true CPU utilisation.
Does CPU Info send device details online?
The measured APK has no internet permission, so it cannot open its own network connections. Project links and the app-search action can hand a URL to your browser; the browser, not CPU Info, then makes that request.
